The Joh. Jos. Prüm Estate is one of the world’s great Riesling producers and is widely held to be the very finest of the Mosel. For those new to Prüm, Stephen Brook eruditely speaks on behalf of the world’s Riesling devotees when he states that a Prüm Riesling is “…the epitome of filigree elegance: light in body but intense in flavour, exquisitely balanced and precisely tuned, and capable of the most extra-ordinary longevity”.
Amongst this stunning line up we have something for lovers of all styles including Kabinett, Spatlese, Beerenauslese, Auslese, Goldkap and Eiswine. Some highlights include the 2002 Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Eiswein, the 2006 Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Beerenauslese (375ml) and magnums of 2010 and 2011 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Goldkap.
“If I had to choose one wine to show how great dry German rieslings can be, I would choose a Keller riesling. Those wines are the German Montrachets.”
Once described by James Halliday as “microsopic” the allocation of Keller wines that come into Australia is so tiny many will have never seen one. They tend to grace the wine lists of the most elite restaurants of Melbourne and Sydney so when you see them come up you have to grab them with both hands.
Some amazing Trocken on offer with some real rareities like 2007 Monsheimer Silberberg Rieslaner Trockenbeerenauslese Goldkap (375ml) and the seldom seen 2009 Riesling Trocken G-Max. We have only a scattering of Keller and it won’t last so get in quickly.
All wines are priced extremely competitively and many are unlikely to be available anywhere else in Australia.
The wines have been kept in pristine condition, purchased directly from local distributors and stored in a climate controlled facility in Melbourne, many still in their original box.
