Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey

One of the most anticipated releases we have each year is Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey.

“The quality Colin is achieving is starting to put him in an elite group and I suspect he will continue to improve. If so, Colin may soon rival for the best micro negociant in Burgundy specializing in whites.”
Allen Meadows, Burghound

2017 Bourgogne Aligote
Usually $55- Special Offer $50

A terrific example of Aligote with surprising power and complexity. A bit closed on the nose but the minerality is there so given time this should be a great drink for the money in due course.
MW Wines

2017 Bourgogne Blanc
Usually $75 - Special Offer $69

The 2017 Bourgogne Chardonnay offers up pretty aromas of green apples, citrus oil, lime cordial, white flowers and a subtle touch of wheat toast. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with an elegantly textural attack, racy acids and a certain sweetness of fruit that lends this Bourgogne upfront charm.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate- 86-88 Points

2017 Pernand-Vergelesses
'Les Belles Filles'
Usually $109 - Special Offer $103

Pierre-Yves Colin now farms—though he doesn't own—close to one hectare here, and the 2017 Pernand-Vergelesses Les Belles Filles is a success, offering up a pretty bouquet of lime zest, white citrus and blanched almonds. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, elegantly glossy and succulent, with a fleshy core and racy acids.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate- 88-90 Points

2017 Pernand-Vergelesses
1er Cru 'Sous Fretilles'
Usually $135 - Special Offer $129

The 2017 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Sous Frétille Blanc reveals aromas of ripe citrus, confit lemon, white flowers and a touch of struck match from its recent racking. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and textural, with succulent acids and a comparatively open-knit profile. This is one of the most charming, accessible wines in the collection.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate- 89-91 Points

2017 Saint-Aubin
'Le Banc'
Usually $115 - Special Offer $109

The 2017 Saint-Aubin Le Banc offers up aromas of green orchard fruit, citrus oil and almond paste, followed by a medium to full-bodied, elegantly glossy palate with good depth at the core, tangy acids and a chalky finish. It's a great introduction to Pierre-Yves Colin's style.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate- 90-92 Points

2017 Saint-Aubin
1er Cru 'Cuvee Marguerite'
Usually $149 - Special Offer $139

Colin has elected to produce a 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Cuvée Marguerite, a blend of the lieux-dits En Créot, Les Combes and Perrières that debuted after the 2016 frost. Exhibiting aromas of pear, fresh mint, white flowers and blanched almond, it's medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with tangy acids and a chalky finish.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate- 90-92 Points

2017 Saint-Aubin
1er Cru 'Les Champlots'
Usually $149 - Special Offer $139

The 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Champlots displays notes of nutmeg, sweet confit lemon, citrus zest and praline. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and pure with a fleshy attack that gives way to a more tensile, saline mid-palate and finish.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate- 89-91 Points

2017 Saint-Aubin
1er Cru 'Les Chateniere'
Usually $169 - Special Offer $159

Aromas of white flowers, orange blossom, citrus oil and green apple introduce the 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru La Chatenière, a medium-bodied, stony but giving wine with succulent acids, a crisp core of fruit and good length on the finish. It's a successful wine from a parcel of old vines that Colin owns.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate- 89-91 Points

2017 Santenay
'Ceps Centenaires' V.V.
Usually $105 - Special Offer $99

This is a beautiful expression of the vintage that is just starting to come around. Bright red fruit and plenty of acidity. Hints of forest floor and just a touch of oak spiciness.

Domaine Gilbert Picq

This is a tiny domaine with the two Picq brothers overseeing vineyard and cellar. Their father also works in the vines and their sister looks after administration, it’s a family affair. The pursuit of ‘earth to glass’ purity using chardonnay as a conduit is obvious to all who taste these wines. There is a range of 6 wines with no Grand Cru‘s, some believing that this fact drives the family harder and pushes quality further. Picq’s low yields give him good strength & acidity, and his wines always have nerve. He vinifies only in stainless steel tanks. He uses a large portion of yeast lees and a longer lees ageing time than most.

2017 Chablis
Usually $49 - Special Offer $45

Crisp and light, shows a lick of ‘Chablis cream’ but it’s mostly about the wet fern, stony-mineral character and a dose of green apple juice. Ticks plenty of boxes, delivers a very good elevated offering for village Chablis. Refreshing as can be too. Lovely.
Mike Bennie, The Wine Front - 92 Points

2017 Chablis V.V.
Usually $68 - Special Offer $63

The 2017 Chablis Vieilles Vignes is also showing well from bottle, unfurling in the glass with scents of lemon oil, mandarin, green apple and oyster shell. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, delicately glossy and incisive, with more tension at the core than the Picq's regular Chablis and a more mouth-wateringly saline finish too.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate - 90 Points

2017 Chablis
1er Cru 'Vaucoupin'
Usually $89 - Special Offer $82

Unfurling in the glass with a youthful bouquet of Meyer lemon, green apple and beeswax, it's medium to full-bodied, elegantly satiny and pure, with excellent concentration, ripe acids and a long, saline finish. Stylish and complete, this Chablis is well worth seeking out.
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate - 92 Points

Domaine Duroche

The elevation of Duroché from little known Gevrey-Chambertin producer to one of the appellation’s most revered is the kind of fairy tale that makes Burgundy such an endearing region. It has been fascinating to see how the Domaine has changed in just the last two or three years
Neil Martin, vinous.com

Domaine Duroché has been making lots of waves since Pierre Duroché took over fully the estate from his father Gilles in 2009. And what a Domaine! Blessed with 8.5 hectares of Gevrey-Chambertin’s finest plots including four premier crus and four Grand Crus. The style of wine from Pierre Duroché is one of the purest expressions of Pinot Noir you'll find with little intervention used. Only 10 to 20% new oak used across the range to champion the terroirs transparency. All destemmed (apart for the tiny Griotte-Chambertin) the concentrated grapes are making profound, lively and vibrant wines that are as intellectual as they are easily delicious.

2017 Gevrey-Chambertin
Usually $135 - Special Offer $125

Reduction and wood make for a pungent introduction to the bigger and richer medium-bodied flavors that are not particularly complex but they are refreshing and persistent. If more depth develops with a few years of bottle age this should merit the upper end of my projected range.

Allen Meadows, Burghound Issue 73 - 87-90 Points

2017 Gevrey-Chambertin
1er Cru 'Lavaux-Saint-Jacques'
Usually $325 - Special Offer $299

Firm reduction masks the underlying fruit at present though there is good freshness to the solidly concentrated and powerful yet caressing medium weight flavors that possess a sophisticated mouthfeel before terminating in a minerally, youthfully austere and firm finish.
Allen Meadows, Burghound Issue 73 - 90-92 Points
