"Once again there is a prominent phenolic character but with more spice and floral nuances that add a touch of elegance. The notably denser flavors are rich to the point of opulence while coating the palate with sappy dry extract that also serves to buffer the slightly firmer acid spine. This is lovely for its level and worth a look."

2023 Meursault V.V
Usually $240
NOW $195

"Ripe aromas of white-fleshed fruit, acacia blossom and a whiff of phenolic character lead to succulent and delicious middle weight flavors that possess a lovely sense of underlying tension that carries over to the clean, dry and balanced finale. This promising effort is quite firm and will need at least few years of keeping to unwind and to add depth. Worth considering."

2023 Meursault 'Vigne de 1945'
Usually $280
NOW $230
Outstanding Top value
"A slightly riper, and ever-so-vaguely exotic, nose freely offers up its aromas of white peach, orange peel and acacia blossom. The exceptionally rich, indeed opulent, medium-bodied flavors possess impressive density while exhibiting solid power on the balanced finish that is also quite tightly wound. This is excellent, particularly for its level, and a wine that's going to require at least some patience."

2023 Meursault 'Les Tessons'
Usually $320
NOW $260
Outstanding Top value
"A more elegant and notably more floral-suffused nose is composed by notes of ripe pear, apple, citrus confit and crushed anise. The rich, generously proportioned and sleeker, though not denser, middle weight flavors do flash more evident minerality on the seductive yet powerful finish. This beautifully well-balanced effort should easily repay up to a decade of keeping. Recommended."

2023 Meursault 1er Cru 'Les Charmes Dessus'
Usually $360

"Background hints of petrol are present on the aromas of poached pear, just sliced apple and a whiff of spice. There is a bit more volume to the slightly bigger and richer middle weight flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract on the notably more persistent finish that is agreeably dry and clean. This harmonious effort could use better depth so a few years of forbearance are suggested."

2023 Meursault 1er Cru 'Goutte-d'Or'
Usually $360
NOW $290
Sweet spot Outstanding
"An expressive and beautifully well-layered nose speaks of carnation and acacia blossom along with notes of white peach, passion fruit and a hint of petrol. I very much like the texture of the rich, generously proportioned and solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a bone-dry, strikingly long and overtly citrus-inflected finale where the only reproach is a touch of warmth. This is impressive."

"Here too there is a suggestion of the exotic to the aromas of white peach, tangerine, mineral reduction and once again, a hint of phenolic character. This medium weight flavors aren't quite as dense though they are just a bit finer while offering fine length and an almost palpable sense of minerality on the balanced and youthfully austere finish that, interestingly enough given that this is a premier cru, isn't quite as structured."

2023 Meursault 1er Cru 'Bouches-Cheres'
Usually $360
NOW $290
Sweet spot Outstanding
"Vaguely exotic and markedly spice-suffused aromas of white and yellow peach, mineral reduction and plenty of floral elements are complemented by the rich and succulent medium weight flavors that possess a positively gorgeous mouthfeel while displaying impeccably good balance on the hugely long finish. This is terrific and one of the Buisson-Charles' wines that always ages exceptionally well."

2023 Chablis 1er Cru 'A Gauche de Serein'
Usually $150
NOW $115
"A notably ripe nose features notes of iodine, poached pear and apple compote along with just enough Chablis typicity to be convincing. The rich and exceptionally generously proportioned flavors are caressing, indeed even lavish, while tightening up slightly on the stony, clean and reasonably dry finish."

2023 Pouilly-Fuisse 1er Cru 'La Marachaude'
Usually $170
NOW $125
"A discreet application of wood sets off slightly riper and vaguely exotic aromas of orange peel, jasmine tea and white orchard fruit. There is more size, weight and volume but less precision and minerality to the medium-bodied flavors that deliver solid length. This is certainly pretty but it too needs to develop better depth so a few years of keeping are recommended."
