Tapanappa Master Class with Australian Wine Legend Brian Croser
Brian Croser is a legend of the Australian wine industry. Now into his 6th decade as a winemaker, he was at the forefront of identifying which varieties would thrive in which vineyard sites and the Petaluma brand he created in the 1970s is still popular with consumers today. After selling Petaluma, Brian wanted to do his own thing once more and in 2002 Tapanappa was born. Today, Brian crafts wine from very diverse sites; Riesling in the Eden Valley from The Bartholomeus Vineyard planted in the 1960s; Chardonnay in the Piccadilly Valley from the Tiers vineyard planted in 1979; Bordeaux varieties in Wrattonbully from the Whalebone vineyard planted in 1974; and Pinot Noir from the Foggy Hill Vineyard on the Fleurieu Peninsula planted in 2003.
Brian will join us at MW Wines to lead us through his current releases, plus some great back vintage examples to highlight the incredible way these wines evolve. This is a rare opportunity to hear from a man whose contribution to the Australian wine industry is up there with names like Evans and Halliday.
