The Macedon Ranges is the coolest inland wine region in the country, ideally suited to growing high-quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Curly Flat has been one of the greatest exponents of these varieties since the 90s, making wines of depth, structure and complexity. Since Matt Harrop took the helm in 2017, the wines have only improved, and the future looks very bright indeed for Curly Flat.
We are very excited to offer the 2019 vintage of Estate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, wines that are both highly cellar-worthy whilst offering delicious drinking right away.

2019 Curly Flat Chardonnay
Usually $55 - Special Offer $51
Portuguese tart, spice, grapefruit and lemon zest, maybe some nectarine. It’s a wine characterized by its creamy gloss and nougat, but with a ripcord of electric citrus acidity and tight juicy flavour. Creamy, cinnamon pastry, all the zest and tang, flecked with aniseed, and flinty river pebble things on a long finish. It’s really good, albeit very intense.

2019 Curly Flat Pinot Noir
Usually $64 - Special Offer $59
Curly Flat has made its name on powerfully-built examples of the variety, fruit often matched step-by-step by oak. There’s cedary oak here but it’s been dialled back while, at the same time, tannin has been dialled up. This wine has fruit but it also has a great emphasis on structure. It’s not chunky, it’s chalky and dry, effectively mineral, almost quartz-like. It brings gravitas to the Curly Flat equation. I looked at this wine over the course of 24 hours and every time I did my score on it went up.
