Shipping Policy

MW Wines will happily arrange shipping on behalf of domestic and international customers. To help ensure that your wine reaches you in the best possible condition, MW Wines uses quality packaging materials and carriers familiar with the specific care requirements for wine deliveries.

MW Wines offers competitive freight charges and for larger volumes of freight, special rates are applicable. For any questions regarding our freight policies, do not hesitate to contact us.

Within Australia

MW Wines will pack and prepare all wines for customer pickup free of charge at any time during our business hours. Where MW Wines is requested to deliver wines, delivery charges will be quoted with the order (based on delivery location). Delivery is available as per customer requirements but we typically recommend dispatch of domestic deliveries on Monday or Tuesday to help avoid wine being stored in delivery depots over weekends.

When supplying wines for local delivery, MW Wines uses the original winery packaging where suitable, heavy-duty cardboard boxes with thick dividers, or polystyrene packs. The wines will be safe from normal handling and will maintain the wines free of light and assist with keeping the contents as cool as the environment temperature will allow.

MW uses only heavy-duty wide industrial adhesive tape and applies it in a manner, which will not enable the bottom of the carton to "fall out" (unless the carton is damaged or wet).

International

MW Wines can arrange shipping to most international locations where wine deliveries are permitted. Unless specifically included, all international delivery charges EXCLUDE customs duties and clearance charges in the destination country and subsequent local delivery. All international deliveries are packaged in insulated polystyrene export shipping boxes to ensure that the wines are protected from temporary temperature fluctuations and a fair degree of rough handling.

Insurance

MW Wines strongly recommends insurance for the shipping of wines. Insurance will be offered as an option and charges separately identified on the invoice. Insurance covers for any loss or damage of the wines in transit, but not for quality in the bottle issues such as corked or faulty wines.

Hot Weather

MW Wines does not ship wine when the weather is forecast to be above 30 degrees Celsius in either Melbourne or the delivery City/State/Country for extended periods unless by arrangement. Wine affected by heat in transit is not covered by insurance.
