From humble beginnings, Mee Godard has risen to be one of the shining lights for the future of Beaujolais. Born into a family of South Korean farmers, Mee was adopted by a French couple when she was nine months old and subsequently emigrated to France. A love for wine followed, and after studying wine science as well as researching polyphenolics and plant physiology, an opening to purchase 5 hectares of vines in Beaujolais presented itself in 2013. Not missing this opportunity, Mee secured three stunning parcels of Corcelette, Cote du Py and Grand Cras and has now established herself crafting wines of serious personality, elegance and longevity.

2019 Morgon 'Cote du Py'

Deep forest-berry, wet-earth and toasty-oak nose that leads you into a concentrated, well structured and elegant palate. Yet, this remains so cool and elegant with a hint of smoke at the very long finish, but more mineral and floral notes. Excellent aging potential. Drink or hold.

2019 Moulin-a-Vent 'Au Michelon'
Usually $97 - Special Offer $91
This highly structured Beaujolais has stunning concentration, but it’s also still so young and really needs bottle age to reveal its substantial treasures. On the nose, the smoky note is still slightly dominant, but there are also undertones of violets, wet earth and dried herbs. On the tightly wound palate there’s stunning minerality that’s beautifully integrated with the fine tannins and lively acidity. Drinkable now, but better from 2022.
