The story of EQUIPO NAVAZOS is the story of a passion, a passion shared by an ample group of lovers and connoisseurs of traditional Andalusian wines. Aware of the sleeping treasures that rested buried in the cellars of Jerez, Sanlúcar and El Puerto, as well as in and around Montilla, they decided to rescue some of these jewels.
In 2005 they started to select specific butts of special finesse and complexity and to bottle them in very limited series, at the beginning only privately for our own enjoyment and that of friends from Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom and the U.S., mostly people from the wine world: oenologists, wine writers, distributors, sommeliers, as well as deeply knowledgeable aficionados.
We are bringing a new release to you today. These wines are, by nature, extremely limited. It would be criminal to miss out.

Manzanilla La Bota 93
Usually $114 - Special Offer $104
One of the better-known wines from Navazos has been the Manzanilla, which has been bottled unfiltered a number of times, and it now reaches us as the NV La Bota de Manzanilla 93, which is now sourced from La Guita (in the old days, it was from Sánchez Ayala; the source changed with edition 71) and averages seven years of age under flor. This is going to be the next release after edition 71, which was bottled almost three years ago. They want to make less frequent bottlings and let the wines develop in bottle. This certainly has the Guita character, mineral and austere with the explosive youth that often bring aromas of lemon peel and delicious bitter notes in the finish. This is really young and tender and should develop nicely in bottle. This seems to be a little lighter and more approachable. As they already have a lot of old and concentrated wines, it's good to have a less demanding and more approachable Manzanilla. 5,000 bottles.

Fino Macharnudo Alto Jerez La Bota 91
Usually $124 - Special Offer $111
The NV La Bota de Fino 91 Macharnudo Alto is a wine that has been bottled multiple times under the numbers 2, 7, 15, 18, 27, 35, 54 and 68 from the Fino Inocente solera of Valdespino. The bottled wine averages an age of ten years, a full-bodied Fino (if that's possible after ten years of flor!), fermented in old sherry casks like it was done yesteryear. They had not bottled this wine for almost three years. The nose is spectacular and easy to identify; it has the same character as the Inocente wines. The nose was singing and expressive, with typical aromas but also somehow floral and perfumed. It has volume with lots of autolysis from the lees, with great power but also finesse and balance. Stunning. 5,000 bottles produced.

Manzanilla Pasada La Bota 59
Usually $139 - Special Offer $125
Orangey gold. Spiced, reduced unsulphured apricots on the nose. Dry, intense, salty yet broad in its spicy barley sugar (without sweetness) flavours. Utterly moreish and attention grabbing with a smoky lapsang aftertaste.

Fino Que Va Para Amontillado La Bota 85
Usually $169 - Special Offer $154
Mid gold. Smells riper and a little more toasty/yeasty than the 83 La Bota de Manzanilla Pasada just tasted. More sour apricot and bitter orange but still with those fine oxidative notes of the beginning of Amontillado, as the name suggests. More nutty too but here it’s more like toasted hazelnuts. Not quite as fine or subtle as the 83 but perhaps more power and even more salty on the finish. Incredible length and so aromatic on the palate as well as the nose. Glorious spread of flavour across the palate, where the 83 was more arrow-like and precise in it shape.

Amontillado Sanlucar La Bota 95
Usually $189 - Special Offer $169
Since the 1980s,made of very different soleras labeled within the cellar as “Manzanilla Pasada”: from the third criadera of Amontillado “M. Pda.” all the way to the little shrine of 1/3 “M. Pda. Viejísima”, including solera 1/10 “M. Pda. Vieja”.
After 2007, the finest and deepest butts were selected, their contents refreshed with true (and unfortified) manzanilla pasada (this is a natural amontillado), in order to create an amontillado solera that was slightly over 100-butt strong. The estimated average age of this wine is around 25 years.
It has kept most of its characteristic freshness as well as its notes of aromatic herbs, baked sweet potato, and caramel show more intense than ever. It is still a delicious amontillado, extremely dry, long, serious, complex, but also perfectly drinkable.
