We were fortunate to taste these new releases from Adrian Rodda yesterday. A wonderful showcase of three different Victorian regions that produce excellent Chardonnay fruit. The wines are now given six additional months on lees to build texture, savourinessand complexity. We are sure you will be impressed as we were.
In addition to the trio of 2021's we have the excellent 2019 Triangle Block Chardonnay from the Smith's Vineyard in Beechworth. The complexity, precision and power blew us all away so we couldn't wait to offer it to our customers. It's an amazing example and deserves a place in any good cellar. A delight to drink now, but sure to age well.

Adrian Rodda has been involved in making wine since 1998, spending more than decade at Oakridge Wines in the Yarra Valley. In 2010, Adrian moved to Beechworth in the North East of Victoria to produce a Chardonnay from the Smiths Vineyard, the oldest vineyard in modern Beechworth viticulture.
In 2012, Adrian commenced the “Chardonnay Project” whereby he sources grapes from the Willow Lake Vineyard in the Yarra Valley and vinifies them in parallel with the Smiths Vineyard Chardonnay. In 2017, a third single vineyard Chardonnay was produced from the Baxendale Vineyard at Whitlands in the cool upper reaches of North East Victoria.

A section of Willowlake Vineyard’s Parkinsons Road block was planted in 1979 in brown gradational soils over clay at an elevation of 270 metres above sea level. Unlike the majority of the Willowlake Vineyard, the Parkinsons Road block has a southerly aspect, with a consistent gradient across the entire block.

2019 Triangle Block Chardonnay
Usually $85 - Special Offer $79
Facing South-East and consisting of just 183 vines, this block consistently produces Chardonnay of the highest quality. In the best growing seasons, the resulting wine is elevated to a new level worthy of a single block release.
Quietly powerful aromas of wild flowers, citrus and white nectarine combine with secondary characters of freshly grilled nuts and almond meal. Complex and intense, a creamy, velvety texture is underlined by citrus acidity and gentle spice finishing with a grapefruit pithiness that is intense, precise and long.
