We've always loved what Luke does up in the Yarra, producing classy wines that speak volumes of the land on which they're grown and the highly likeable character who makes them.
"you must factor in the quality of the vintage—’22 was a belter—but in Luke’s mind, the real hero of what he calls his best-ever release is the vineyard. “This is the first set of wines I’ve been pretty close to being 100% happy with”, he told us. And we really don’t need to tell you how that plays out in the glass."

2022 Chardonnay
Usually $59 - Special Offer $55
"The 2022 was sourced from a plot of clone 95 Chardonnay at the top of the east-facing slope in the Denton Vineyard. The granitic soils are much skinnier here than further down the slope where the fruit for the Crudo Chardonnay comes from (clone P58). Clone 95 ripens earlier and to a higher degree than P58, and the vines, canopy and berries are smaller, meaning tight viticultural control is required to ensure sun exposure is managed and picking dates are nailed on. The granitic nature of the Denton soil is felt most acutely in the Chardonnay wines, contributing, in Luke’s words, “phenolic and mineral tension alongside stone fruit and river stone flavours”.

2022 Syrah
Usually $59 - Special Offer $55
The fruit for this Syrah was sourced from the west side of the Denton vineyard, where it enjoys more afternoon sun. Like the Chardonnay, the vines are located at the top of the hill where the topsoil depth is negligible, and yields are much lower than is the case for the Crudo vines, which are on the lower part of the slope.
Luke has found a new gear with Syrah from Denton; you can expect more structure and potency than ever before. It’s vibrantly perfumed with berry fruits, smoky graphite and savoury spices. The brooding depth flows through to a richly textured palate charged with taut acidity and assertive tannins. The finish is as long as a pair of Tex Perkins’ jeans. Intense, yet full of light and energy, it’s not hard to see why Luke Lambert considers this one of, if not the finest, Syrah he has released."

2021 Chardonnay
Usually $49 - Special Offer $44
"The 2021 Lambert Chardonnay draws you into the glass like a siren call, with generous, pithy stone fruits, steely minerality, swishes of salinity and a touch of struck match. There’s a light tread, an elegance and a finesse, all sitting above an undercurrent of skinsy tension, a dashing mouthfeel and perfectly rendered acidity. It's not overtly fruit-forward, it never is, relying more on structure, texture and presence. It oozes depth, with a pulsating, savoury finish.”.

2021 Syrah
Usually $49 - Special Offer $42
"What a difference a year makes. There was no Syrah/Shiraz produced here in 2020—either Crudo or at this level. Simply, Luke and Rosalind didn’t feel their source produced the standard required for their label: “It just wasn’t going to hit the level we wanted so we decided not to push it”.No such issue in 2021.
It’s a Syrah of drive and power, possessing the signature Lambert lift, balance and perfume. Brambly blue and red fruits sit cheek-by-jowl with cured meat savoury notes and graphite-like tannins and minerality. The silky and velvety mouthfeel, energy and complexity is to die for."
