Patrick Piuze
Cheerful, candid and industrious, Quebecois Patrick Piuze celebrates the tenth anniversary of his négociant operation this year, and there's no denying that his presence has enriched the region. At this address, hand-harvested grapes are pressed firmly, their juice fermented in used barrels and stainless steel, with sur lie élevage of comparatively short duration, since Piuze wished to capture the maximum of freshness and energy. The resulting wines are elegantly textural but incisive, clearly differentiated by site.

Domaine Jean-Marc Pavelot
I have said it before, and I say it again: Pavelot is probably making the best wines in Savigny-lès-Beaune at the moment. With a solid range of Premier Crus within their range, this is my go-to source for the appellation...

Domaine de la Vougeraie
Domaine de la Vougeraie traces its history back to 1964, when the Boisset family acquired a plot of the 'Les Evocelles' vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin. However, the domaine itself didn't come into being until 1999.Despite this youth, Domaine de la Vougeraie shows obsessive attention to detail in vineyard and cellar. The vineyards are maintained with biodynamics at the core of every decision, while in the cellar, the wines are gently coaxed to completion. The resulting wines are balanced and harmonious with immense power..

Domaine Mongeard Mugneret
Domaine Mongeard Mugneret was established in 1945 when, Jean Mongeard, whose mother was a Mugneret, began making wine at the age of 16. Today, Domaine Mongeard Mugneret, run by grandson Vincent, covers a total area of more than 75 acres across 35 appellations. Vinification often involves a manual harvesting and complete destemming. The wines are aged in oak barrels, old and new. Mongeard Mugneret wines, some of the best in Vosne-Romanee are structured to age gracefully.
