Cullen Wines is one of Margaret River's founding estates, one of the "Founding Four" alongside Vasse Felix, Moss Wood and Cape Mentelle that first proved the region's potential for fine wine. Diana and Dr Kevin Cullen planted their first vines at Wilyabrup in 1971, and their daughter Vanya has led the winemaking since 1989, converting the estate to organic farming in 1998 and to biodynamic practice in 2003. Cullen was the first vineyard and winery in Australia certified carbon positive. Its two flagship wines, Diana Madeline and Kevin John, named for the estate's founders, are consistently ranked among the finest Cabernet blends and Chardonnays produced in the country, and Vanya herself has been named Halliday Wine Companion's Winemaker of the Year and awarded the Order of Australia for her contribution to Australian wine.

A Study in contrasts.

This release spans three vintages that could scarcely have been more different. 2023 was near perfect, even flowering and moderate temperatures allowing slow, gentle ripening with no weather events, and it produced the Ephraim red blend. 2024 swung hard the other way: the earliest, driest, warmest vintage on record, with harvest compressed into a fraction of its usual window. Lower yields brought real concentration, and it's this vintage behind the Mangan Vineyard Red Moon and the flagship Diana Madeline. 2025 corrected course again, a wet winter setting up a warm, settled, largely disease-free season comparable to the celebrated 2021 and 2022 vintages. It's the vintage behind Kevin John and Grace Madeline, while the Metricup Chardonnay was picked across a Flower Day and Fruit Day just five days apart, per Cullen's biodynamic calendar.

2025 produced exceptional white wines with opulence, structure and ripe fruit characters. Hand-harvested over two days a Flower Day on February 18th and a Fruit Day on February 23. The wine has been predominately tank fermented with a small portion in French oak for texture. Natural yeast and no additions of acidity.
