Tenerife is home to the highest peak in Spain, dramatic views and of course, Envinate’s great Canary project.

They have been farming on Tenerife since the late 2000’s, since then they have started to identify all the singularities in each site they work. This has not only created new cuvee’s but also more detail across all their wines.

From all across Tenerife they have crafted some stunning 22’s, it was however a much smaller vintage than 2021 so the wines are only available in tiny quantites, mostly only 1 or 2 bottles available.

2022 Benje Blanco

"All wines are unfiltered and unfined, and the 2022 Benje Blanco showed a little cloudy but with an extremely expressive, nuanced and elegant nose, very subtle. It was a cooler year with more freshness, so they used less flor (which is always used to sharpen the whites), and the palate is long and vertical, very tasty. This is the finest vintage of this wine to date."

2022 Palo Blanco

"The heat from late August didn't affect much the grapes that were used for the 2022 Palo Blanco, as they are picked much later than the grapes from other zones of Tenerife. So, the 2022 vintage in Los Realejos is a lot fresher than in Taganana or La Orotava. In fact, I liked the palate of this 2022 better than that of the 2021; it's vibrant, lovely and fresh. The nose is still a little reductive, and the notes of flowers and herbs take time to emerge."

2022 Palo Blanco 'Las Molinas'

"The 2022 Palo Blanco Las Molinas is a new white from Los Realejos, a large plot of some 1.2 hectares of vines. In 2021, the grapes from this plot went into the Palo Blanco blend that they bottled in 2022. For the 2022 vintage, they bottled a 1,500-liter oak foudre separately to make this wine, and another 3,500 liters still went to the Palo Blanco blend. This has moderate alcohol, 11.5%, and very low pH and high acidity, unusual parameters for the variety, something that seems to come from the zone. It's fresh, floral and expressive with just a spicy twist. It has a vibrant palate and a long, tasty, almost salty finish. There is a plus of complexity and finesse here."

2022 Benje Tinto

"The red 2022 Benje is floral, expressive, clean and elegant, reflecting a very good year in the region, with notes of rose petals and talcum powder, a fine texture and very elegant tannins. This has to be the most elegant Benje to date."

2022 Taganan Tinto

"The just-bottled 2022 Táganan Tinto is juicy and primary but with very good balance and no excess. It has less reductive character and is sapid and balanced. They did slightly shorter macerations and used a little more full clusters for this wine. It's a very good vintage for this bottling."

2022 La Santa de Ursula Tinto

"The 2022 La Santa de Úrsula is balsamic and reveals notes of rose petals and talcum powder. The fruit is darker (riper), and it has a juicy palate with fine tannins and a long, lingering finish."

2022 MiganTinto

"Racy and a little less perfumed than Taganan Margalagua that was tasted alongside. There is a little more fruit, depth of color and aroma, but it is less effusive. Wild berries, white pepper funk, grilled grapefruit, dried white asparagus and dried mushrooms. A little more volume and fruit on the palate with silky, soft tannins. So delicious!"

2022 Taganan Tinto 'Margalagua'

"There's a little more ripeness in the 2022 Táganan Parcela Margalagua, a jump in complexity and depth from the regular Táganan. It has fruit, elegance and a medium body with very fine tannins. It's very harmonious and with an ethereal quality to it. It has a combination of dry flowers, crushed rocks, herbs and always a marine whiff that makes it quite distinct."
