2019 Foothills Pinot Noir
Usually $40 - Special Offer $36
Hand harvested, a selection of rows from the Silverwood vineyard. Vineyard established 1998, managed by Kerri Greens since 2016.
We experienced excellent ripening conditions in 2019 delivering a spotless crop with high fruit intensity. Fruit was picked in the first week of March.
Fully destemmed directly to bins by gravity, as softly and slowly as possible, no crush. The focus being on keeping the berries as whole as possible. There was no addition of sulphur or yeast and the must was left undisturbed until fermentation naturally began 5 days later.
Plunged softly, lovingly, daily. Left to mature in three Francois Freres Puncheons - 25% new - for a full 12 months.
Certainly the most typical Pinot we have conjured in our short history. No Addition other than Sulphur.
Producer Notes
From the Silverwood vineyard, planted in 1998. I really like these Kerri Greens wines, and perhaps it’s a strange thing to say, but they *feel* nice.
Cherry and strawberry, spice, some dried herb and orange peel. Supple but dusty texture, almost peppery feel, and pleasantly silty in texture, a juicy strawberry flavour, light amaro tang, cool feel with a long white pepper tannin finish. There’s something of an Italianate character to it too, which adds to its appeal. Wonderful.

2019 Hickson Chardonnay
Usually $40 - Special Offer $36
The Hickson Vineyard consists of two acres of Chardonnay planted by the Hickson family in 1982. One of a sprinkling of vineyards preluding the rise of the Mornington Peninsula. A heritage site lovingly restored in 2013 by Kerri Greens.
The Hickson site is managed without herbicide, systemic fungicides or insecticides. Irrigation is not used on this dryland site.
The 2019 vintage produced excellent quality fruit hand harvested at only 1.3T per acre. Whole bunch pressed into barrel -20% new- and left on solids for a full 12 months, settled in tank for a further 8 weeks. Primary fermentation took place using wild yeast and without the assistance of sulphur. Malolactic naturally kicked off the following spring, partially completing before giving it up on its own accord. Bottled without fining or filtration.
Producer Notes
Intense peach and melon, honey and flowers, plenty of spice, wheatgerm. Bright and juicy, some citrus, flinty texture, a bit of savoury stuff, dry and flinty to close. Good energy. A golden feel to it.
