Three vintages and three superb wines for this benchmark Domaine. That’s not to say each year was not without its misadventures. Graillot’s juicy, racy white Crozes is from 2019, the year a freak storm ripped through the Rhône Valley where hailstones destroyed many vineyards. With yields down in the coming vintages, try and experience this producer before they disappear.
"Maxime Graillot (Alain's son) manages this superb domain, located on the broad plains of les Chassis. Unfortunately, Graillot estimates they lost 50% of their crop in 2019 because of hail damage. Thankfully, the domaine is looking at two very good years in 2017 and 2018"

"This 2019 is a particularly racy example of this wine, with a good depth of pear, lemon rind, cumquat, ginger and hay notes, and the kind of punchy, juicy grip not often associated with these varieties in the Rhône. Densely packed yet energetic as well, finishing with sharp delineation, steadily building tannins and excellent persistence."
