Gentle Folk 2020 Village Release

From academic beginnings, holding a PhD in marine science, Gareth Belton of Gentle Folk Wines has traded a life in the lab for one amongst the vines in the Adelaide Hills. Shying away from overly complicated winemaking techniques and with a deft touch, Gareth crafts energetic wines that speak of vintage and place. This philosophy of simplicity gained him recognition in 2014 as an award finalist for Young Gun of Wine, only a year after his first commercial release in 2013.
Considering all that could have possibly gone wrong in 2020, grape growing conditions in Gareth's particular part of the Adelaide Hills were pretty ideal. They got lucky with the winds, which mostly blew the smoke away from their vineyards. The ripening season was warm with cooler nights, and rain fell at more or less the right time, producing a fabulous pair of wines.
