If the Pfalz region is often known for producing full-bodied, fruit-forward wines, 2002 and 2013Winemaker of the Year Hansjorg Rebholz's wines come as a crisp pure breath of fresh air.
The Rebholz style aims to be as transparent a translation of vintage and site as possible; the house style, honed now over three generations, is bone dry, crystal clear, pure and unadulterated. Possessing some of the finest vineyard sites in the Pfalz on a variety of different soils, Hansjorg and his team craft a broad range of delicious wines.

"The wine shows the perfect interplay between maturity and minerality, fruit and acidity, as well as density and elegance. As is typical for the area, the scent is characterized on the one hand by the soil with its distinctive mineral aromas - smoke, pepper, flint, hay, tea, herbs, and on the other hand by the Riesling grape variety citrus, apple, peach and apricot aromas. This double game is also repeated in terms of taste: the grape variety contributes the fruity and the soil the herbal-spicy, mineral taste. Like all Rebholz wines, the wine has great storage potential."
