Caroline Morey
Caroline Morey is the eldest daughter of the famed Jean-Marc Morey. In 2014, after her father’s retirement, she took a portion of the family’s vineyards to start her own domaine. Today she shares a winery in Chassagne-Montrachet with her husband, Pierre-Yves Colin, where they are making elite red and white Burgundy that stands at the apex of what is possible in the legendary region. In just a few vintages, Caroline has taken the world by storm with wines of precision, purity, mineral intensity and extraordinary clarity of terroir.

2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge
Extremely Limited - $109
Slightly fuller red. Plummy sweet fruit, very ripe strawberries, good acidity before some more rustic tannins in typical Chassagne mode. This will need time to settle down, but the finish is long.

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey
Pierre-Yves Colin is the eldest son of the famed Marc Colin. After working as the winemaker at his father’s domaine from 1994 to 2005, he established his own domaine from inherited family vineyards. Since that time, he has rapidly become a star in the Cote de Beaune and is now considered one of Burgundy’s top producers. His choice to use larger demi-muid barrels and avoid the use of battonnage makes each one of his bottlings a clear expression of its terroir and a study in mineral-driven Chardonnay. With each new vintage, his wines seem to get better and better. This is not only one of the top domaines in Chassagne; this is one of the great winemakers and domaines in the world.

2019 Bourgogne Aligote
Usually $60 - Special Offer $55
From 50-year-old vines in the Hautes-Côtes, Pierre Yves-Colin's 2019 Bourgogne Aligoté offers up aromas of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers and beeswax. Medium-bodied, fleshy and incisive, it's bright and elegantly fleshy, with a nicely defined, saline finish.

2019 Bourgogne Blanc
Usually $84 - Special Offer $76
From four parcels—in Meursault, Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet—in the Côte de Beaune, the Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey 2019 Bourgogne Chardonnay delivers inviting aromas of fresh pear, peach and white flowers. Richer and more generous than this year's crisper, racier Bourgogne Aligoté, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, with a bright spine of acidity and a nicely defined finish.

2019 Saint-Aubin 'Le Banc'
Extremely Limited - $134
A small yield of 30 hl/ha after frost, picked 13th September at 14%, but I did not see any trace of the alcohol when tasting this wine. Pale lime reflections in the colour. This wine begins beautifully with a fresh, chiselled nose, perfectly balanced with considerable energy. Alongside the admirable tension this wine is so full of fruit too, dancing across the palate. Highly Recommended.

2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru 'Les Champlots'
Extremely Limited - $184
Notes of pear, white flowers, wheat toast and smoke introduce the 2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Champlots, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive wine that's concentrated, mineral and precise. Saline and penetrating, it should enjoy a bright future.

2019 Saint-Aubin 1er 'Les Chateniere'
Extremely Limited - $204
A cuvée I admire more and more as I follow bottles from my own cellar, Pierre-Yves Colin's 2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru La Chatenière opens in the glass with notions of citrus oil, white peach, Anjou pear, warm bread and blanched almonds. Medium to full-bodied, bright and lively, it's tightly wound and penetrating, with a tangy, saline finish.

2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru 'En Remilly'
Extremely Limited - $219
From three parcels, Pierre-Yves Colin's 2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly marries aromas of orange oil and fresh pear with hints of struck match, white flowers and warm bread. Medium to full-bodied, layered and enveloping, it's the most voluminous of his Saint-Aubins, with racy acids and chalky extract underpinning its ample core of fruit. Concluding with a saline finish, this, too, is promising.

These are the oldest vines owned by Pierre-Yves having been planted in 1900. This vineyard is on the eastern extremity of Santenay, abutting Chassagne 1er Cru Morgeot. The soils are a combination of marl and calcaire giving a wine of finesse and depth which while showing well young also have the ability to age well too.

2019 Santenay 1er Cru 'Les Gravieres'
Extremely Limited - $139
55 years old and very frosted. Newish and slightly too big a plot to treat more than 20%en pelicelle;30% destemmed, 50% whole bunch...Minerally nose. Rich and lively. Charming and very fruity. There’s a bit of tannin, long flavour. PYCM reds are definitely on the up.
