Chablis is a perennial favourite of the staff at MW, so everyone loves to taste new releases from a producer we haven't seen before. As such, we were all blown away from the quality of the 2020's from Domaine Gueguen on offer below.
The village Chablis is one of the best value wines we have seen in a while so we are very excited to be able to offer it to our customers at under $50 per bottle! With a spot-on 93 point review and limited availability, this promises to sell out quickly so grab a 6 pack while you can.

A life in wine was inevitable for Domaine Gueguen’s two storied principals. Céline Brocard hails from generations of wine-growing women. Her mother, Claudine Petit, inherited vines in the commune of Saint-Bris le Vineux from her mother, which in turn had come from her grandmother in 1882. Frédéric is also from Chablis stock, being related to both the Goulley and Durup families. The pair worked together with Céline’s father at his family estate, Jean-Marc Brocard, as vignerons and winemakers for 13 years.
The majority of the fruit is estate-grown, and while Domaine Gueguen is not yet certified, there have been no herbicides or pesticides sprayed since 2015 and their organic certification is due this year. The vineyards also benefit from the Highest Environmental Value Certificate (HEV) based on conservation, plant protection strategy and management of fertiliser and water. Their family history, respect for their terroir and highly ethical approach always result in highly drinkable and consistently well-priced white Burgundy. We are excited and proud to offer these 2020’s – fill your boots.

2020 Petit Chablis
Usually $44 - Special Offer $40
Gueguen’s Petit Chablis vines are located in Les Temps Perdus on some of the most southerly terroir in the region on the outskirts of the village of Préhy. The average vine age is 25 years. Simply made, the fruit was direct-pressed and cold settled before a natural yeast fermentation with temperature control in stainless steel tank.
Importer Notes
The 2020 Petit Chablis is tightly wound on the nose, offering light green apple and grass clipping/dewy meadow scents. The palate is well balanced, with that appley theme continuing, and a touch spicier than its peers, delivering satisfying depth toward the finish. Fine.

2020 Chablis
Usually $52 - Special Offer $49
Buy a 6-Pack Usually $312 - Special Offer $270 ($45/bottle)
The village Chablis is made from 40-year-old vines grown and around Préhy and Chichée, including fruit from the well-regarded lieu dits of Malantes and Pargues (situated between the Montmains and Vosgros 1er Crus). The vineyards are mainly south-west facing on Kimmeridgian soils with a layer of Jurassic clay and limestone, littered with small oysters and fossils.
Importer Notes
A relatively recent estate, Céline's father is Jean-Marc Brocard, whilst Frédéric worked at Domaine Durup. They continue to make great strides with their Chablis. This is a lovely example with concentration on the palate and extra layers of flavour compared to many. Despite the power and ripeness of fruit, the wine is kept in perfect balance by crisp acidity and a fine, mineral finish. Great stuff.
