Bernard Baudry
"One of Chinon's classic, benchmark producers" - Vinous

2019 Chinon 'Le Clos Guillot'- $94
"Just outside the village, Clos Guillot sits on a slope on clay over limestone. The 2019 Chinon is a serious barrel sample that melts in your mouth with its silken texture. No crushing, very little remontage and a year in used barrels all lend a very gentle touch. The tannins build gradually, coating the mouth with the finest of chalky textures. Excellent acidity keeps things fresh through the finish."

2017 Saumur Blanc - $149
"The 2017 Saumur Blanc is bright and intense on the concentrated and chalky nose that is very fine, complex and authentic. Pure, fresh and highly elegant on the palate, this is a piercingly mineral, fresh and salty, stimulatingly grippy Chenin Blanc with a long, clear, fresh and iodine finish."

Domaine des Roches Neuves
"Many of Germain'sSaumur-Champignys taste more like Burgundy than a lot of pinot noirs on the market.” - Vinous

2019 Saumur-Champigny 'La Marginale' - $109
"Perhaps more than any other red, Marginale encapsulates the metamorphosis of Germain's wines from powerhouse intensity to the profound elegance that today defines the wines of this Estate...Here, beguiling aromatics that suggest forest fruits, pine and ground spice lead to a wonderful fresh and fluid palate of tremendous class and length. It's pretty and fine yet serious and wonderfully precise, but the word that again keeps coming to mind is 'delicious'! Do not miss it."

Thibaud Boudignon
"The wines of Boudignon were the best dry chenins that I tasted and were at the level of 1er Cru and Grand Cru Burgundy.” - Michel Bettane

2019 Anjou Blanc - $89
"From 39 year-old vines, planted at 8000 vines/ha on shallow soils of grey schist and rhyolite. Fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts for 2-3 weeks, followed by maturation in 300L and 750L barrels (30% new) for 15-18 months. Since Thibaud has moved into his new winery just 2 years ago this wine has moved up a few notches in depth and complexity. The oak integration is now perfect to the point of being invisible serving only to add another layer to the tight citric core of fruit. Especially age-worthy in 2017 but try to keep your hands off this one. This is pure pleasure from the first taste. To be enjoyed in the first 5 or so years. This wine pushes the boundaries of Anjou in a very positive direction, the resulting wines are crystalline pure."

2018 SaumurBlanc 'Bizay - Clos de Guichaux' - $129
"The 2018 Saumur Bizay Clos de Guichaux is from another monopole the family holds in Saumur. Planted in 2003 on silt and sand topping relatively soft limestone bedrock, picked by hand, fermented naturally and aged for nine months in older oak barrels, the intensely yellow-golden 2018 opens with intense and perfectly ripe and aromatic fruit on the immediately attractive and charming nose. Full-bodied, round and juicy, with remarkably finessed acidity and a really friable limestone character, this is a very attractive yet concentrated, dense and substantial, textural Saumur Chenin. Not only for immediate pleasure, the wine can age for years, if not even decades. Its finish is intense, and long yet also fine and fresh and reveals fine tension and mineral grip. Very stimulating and clearly limestone-driven but in a very charming manner."
