Rene took ownership of a small holding in the Rhone Valley in 1971 and since then has expanded and become one of the most highly regarded producers in the region. The stream of accolades for Rene hasn't looked like slowing down anytime soon either with a string of fantastic vintages over the last decade. 2019 is yet another strong vintage in the Rhone Valley and has seen Domaine Rostaing produce another astounding collection of Cote-Rotie. Powerful, mineral-accented aromas of ripe dark fruits, smoky bacon, incense and exotic spices. Potpourri and cracked pepper nuances build on the palate, which offers densely packed yet lively black and blue fruit and spicecake flavors that spread out and take a sweeter turn on the back half. Shows outstanding energy and sharp definition, finishing with strong energy, youthfully gripping tannins and a resonating floral note.

An assertively perfumed bouquet displays an array of ripe red and blue fruit preserve, floral and spice qualities, along with suggestions of licorice, smoky bacon fat and mineral notes. Effortlessly marries depth and energy and offers sweet cherry, crème de mûre and candied violet flavors sharpened by building mineral and spice flourishes. Shows noteworthy clarity and mineral cut on a long, penetrating finish that echoes the floral and mineral notes with real authority.
