Onannon
"You would have to go a long way to find three more more open-hearted and utterly committed winemakers; the world is their oyster, their ambitions unlimited."

The trio of winemakers that make up Onannon is formidable to say the very least. Sam Middleton, Kasper Hermann (both of the famed Mount Mary) and Will Byron (Stonier) have cut their teeth together, coming up through the wine world working at many of Victoria's greatest sites. Since 2008, the three friends have been collaborating together to craft superb wines with a focus on Gippsland and the Mornington Peninsula.
Today, we are pleased to bring you the latest release from Onannon including the Mornington Peninsula releases as well as the stunning single site Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs from Teurong, Leongatha and Red Hill.

2021 Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay
Usually $43 - Special Offer $41
Sam, Kaspar and Will pick the fruit “on the up-curve” (i.e. crux of flavour and freshness) – bearing in mind the warmer side of the Mornington Peninsula is part of the equation here. Good flesh here though; medium-bodied, good weight and sweep of acidity with a crispness to the finish.

2020 Teurong Chardonnay
Usually $53 - Special Offer $50
It’s a ripper Chardonnay. Absolute top drawer. The length of it, wow. It tastes of white peach and nectarine, shells and lactose, hay and sweet cedar. But the tension here, the impression of power and the sheer length; this is quality with a hum to it. File this one under Excellent.

2019 Leongatha Pinot Noir
Usually $63 - Special Offer $60
Sweet meats and sweet-sour cherries, earth, dust, garden herbs and smoked cedar. This is a light-butinsistent style, done well. It’s complex in a casual, almost off-hand way; its complexity feels inherent. It has excellent length. This ticks all the boxes, particularly if you’re prepared to stash it away for a few years.

2019 Red Hill Pinot Noir
Usually $63 - Special Offer $60
This is pretty super. Young, for sure, and tight, and a little liberal with the oak, just, but it’s so inherently complex, so well framed, and so well fruited – in a context of savouriness. Dark cherry and strawberry, woodsy herbs, foresty/undergrowth-like aspects, lots of twiggy spice. It carries a veneer of toasty cedar wood oak but it’s not heavy and nor is it concerning. It’s a tip top wine. Fine-grained and tight, with some kind of fantastic future ahead of it.
