Since leaving Australia for France in 1998, Jane Eyre has carved out her place in Burgundy, working under Dominique Lafon, forging alliances with Benjamin Leroux and being crowned negociant of the year in 2020 by influential French wine magazine, La Revue du Vin de France. Now making wines in Burgundy and Australia, she has enlisted the help of some of the greatest wine minds Downunder to tend to the vines and returns each vintage to assemble her cuvees. Unfortunately, with the restrictions around international travel, Jane's ability to be in Australia to vinify her wines was impossible. But, difficult times encourage innovation and many samples sent to Burgundy and zoom blending sessions made the impossible possible.
We recently tasted through these with Jane and were delighted to see how they had come together under such trying circumstances. Elegant yet with impressive length and drive, we thought these were stunning. It must be noted that the Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland releases are in minimal supply. 2020 Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

Yarra Pinots are often very fine, delicate examples of Pinot Noir and this years wine is no exception. Wonderfully aromatic blend of summer berries and floral, amost lavender characters. The wine dances across your palate and finishes with long, silky tannins.

2020 Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir
Extremely Limited - $69
Fruit comes from 20 year old dry grown, premium vineyards on red soils in Merricks. Aromas of cherry, lavender and plums are coupled with flavours of raspberries, a hint of earthiness and orange zest (typical of this wine each year). Fine, lingering tannins finish off a delicate, yet complex wine.

2020 Gippsland Pinot Noir
Extremely Limited - $79
This a quite a delicate wine this year. Bright red berry fruit is interwound with brambly notes. The palate starts with primary fruit flavours, spice, undergrowth characters; It has a fresh acidity and finishes with fine but firm tannins.
