Cascina Luisin is situated in the Rabajà area in the territory of Barbaresco, one of the epicentres of Langhe’s winemaking. The winery cultivates 8 hectares of vineyards and produces an average of 40’000 bottles yearly. The company’s business philosophy is firmly based on special care for a sound viticulture and on great respect for tradition regarding technique of vilification. 2017 Barbaresco 'Paolin' DOCG

"Coming from a special parcel called “Sorì Paolin,” which is part of the Basarin cru in the commune of Neive. It has a full south exposition and climbs to about 270 meters above sea level, with an average vine age of around 65 years. This parcel usually shows itself in aricher and fuller style wine, the 2017 exemplifying this by bringing together concentration, strong structure and great length."

2017 Barbaresco 'Rabaja' DOCG

"Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Lifted cherry fruit with hints of cumin. Quite pretty. Soft cherry fruit with a long nerve of acidity running through the palate. Elegant, almost lightweight on the palate but with a firm, muscular structure. Closes up on the finish, and needs much more time. The tannins aren't rough, but certainly make their presence felt, but there is enough of a core of fruit to see this evolve with more bottle age."

2017 Barbaresco 'Asili' DOCG

"Just mid ruby. Deep, brooding nose. Perfumed cherry fruit and just the merest suggestion of oak, although this has only seen large casks. Succulent cherry palate with quite firm tannins and a big dose of acidity. A little austere on the finish, but this is still very young, and a little drying on the finish, yet long and multi-layered and embryonic. Age will give it the final polish. (WS)"
