Domaine Jacques-Frederic Mugnier is, without question, one of Burgundy's greatest producers. When considering what qualities best define Burgundy as the greatest pinot noir producing region on earth, we usually come back to a combination of power, complexity and longevity, but with an ethereal, almost weightless quality. This is the hallmark of Mugnier. With holdings in some of the greatest climats across Chambolle-Musigny, together with an impressive Monopole in Nuits-Saint-Georges, this renowned producer creates effortlessly expressive wines of great clarity and structure. For this reason, these wines are seldom seen in a general offer, like the one we present to you today.
Today's offer includes some of the most exclusive cuvees from Mugnier, most notably the stunning Musigny Grand Cru and its esteemed neighbour Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru' Les Amoureuses'. However, amongst the list enclosed is one extraordinarily rare cuvee, the 2016Chambolle-Musigny 'Trente Deux', a wine that will only ever be produced once. The 'Trente Deux' (thirty-two)was made in recognition of Frederic Mugnier's 32nd vintage as winemaker and is an intriguing blend of Musigny Grand Cru and Chambolle-Musigny 1er 'Les Plantes'.
As is to be expected, the quantities available of some of these wines are incredibly limited (in many cases, just one bottle). Accordingly, wines will be allocated to customers after we have collated orders, with preference given to sharing these wines with as many customers as possible, as well as to balanced orders across the range.
