Domaine des Malandes began with their first vintage in 1949 from the Fourchaume vineyard in Chablis.
Today the Domaine is operated by the third generation, working mostly with old vines, many over 50 years old, to produce wines with classic Chablis aromas that are clean and precise.
2021wines are classic Chablis showing typical character, good tension and acidity with strong terroir influence. These wines are sure to please.

"Ripe yet fresh and airy aromas include those of the hallmark citrus confit, quinine and floral nuances, all of which are trimmed in discreet oak. The medium-weight flavors are rich to the point of opulence thanks to the abundant dry extract that coats the palate on the clean, very dry and youthfully austere finale. This is impressively dense yet manages to retain a sense of refinement."

"Slightly riper but still agreeably fresh aromas exhibit good Chablis character with its notes of quinine, iodine, wet stone, green fruit and white flower. The succulent and rich medium-weight flavors possess a seductive mid-palate while delivering solid depth and persistence on the bitter lemon-inflected finish. This would benefit from more depth but that should reasonably occur."

"...the expressive nose confirms that it could be from nowhere else but Chablis with its aromas iodine, oyster shell and pretty floral scents that are also trimmed in discreet wood influence. Here too the medium-bodied flavors possess very fine volume as the old vine sap is very much in evidence on the bitter lemon rind-inflected and wonderfully long finale. This could use better depth, but more will almost certainly develop if given a few years of keeping."

"Once again there is subtle but not invisible wood framing the ripe but cool aromas of apple, pear, white peach and a plenitude of Chablis elements, especially shellfish. There is again excellent volume to the dense and serious yet refined flavors that possess and finest texture in the range while delivering superb length on the balanced finale. Lovely."

2021 Chablis Grand Cru 'Les Clos'

"This is even more aromatically restrained and decidedly cooler as well with its aromas of green apple, white flower, oyster shell, quinine and slightly more evident wood influence. The exceptionally rich, even opulent, big-bodied flavors also coat the palate with sappy dry extract that buffers the citrus-tinged acidity shaping the long and powerful if slightly woody finale. I wouldn't be too concerned about the wood treatment as this wine has an excellent track record in successfully integrating the oak."
