Burgundian winemakers Étienne de Montille and Brian Sieve (both Domaine de Montille) partnered with Champagne's Rodolphe Peters (Pierre Peters) to create Racines in Santa Rita Hills, California. Their goal was to find the perfect terroir to produce exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay outside of France. The cool climate of Santa Rita Hills provides the ideal terroir, and the team's expertise in hand-crafting Chardonnay and Pinot Noir results in wines of remarkable purity and elegance.

I would give this a few years in bottle to soften. This is an especially savory style of Pinot with plenty of aromatic presence, and the fruit pushed into the background. The Sta. Rita Hills cuvée is a blend of fruit from Domaine de la Côte and La Encantada."
