Daniel Gomez Jiminez-Landi
Daniel Landi, together with Fernano Garcia are better known as Comando G. Comando G release some of the world's greatest Grenache, often compared favourably with the indomitable Chateau Rayas (as below) .
Seperately Daniel Landi (Dani) has released his own wines from vineyards around the Sierra de Gredos to similar acclaim. This is the final release under the label Daniel Gomez Jiminez-Landi.

"Dani’s wines are farmed around the town of El Real de San Vicente in the Valle del Tiétar, which lies south of the Gredos along the edges of the Méntrida DO. These place names take prime position on Dani’s labels, acknowledging a desire to express a sense of place with as much precision as possible. From valley to village to individual plot, each bottle is clearly traceable to the piece of land it represents.
These Garnachas are beautifully light and delicate, yet contain an impressive amount of structure and power. As a generalisation, they tend to show a little more power and weight than the wines of Comando G with a similarly taut mineral line."

2020 Mentrida 'Las Uvas de la Ira' Garnacha

"The grapes for the village red El Real De San Vicente 2020 Las Uvas de la Ira were picked before the abundant rains of mid-September, as it's a warmer place than other villages in Gredos, and the wine has a little more the character of a ripe year (it reached 15% alcohol) with tons of spices, wild berries, herbs and flowers with a note of pollen.
This is medium-bodied and balanced, with very fine grainy tannins."

2019 El Tiemblo 'Las Iruelas' Garnacha

"The bottled 2019 Las Iruelas is clearly the highlight of the vintage (together with the 2019 Rumbo al Norte from the Comando G portfolio), even better than anticipated when I tasted it last year.
This has a developed nose, it's open and is the one that is truly reminiscent of Rayas with the notes of beeswax, honey, brick dust and decayed leaves and further complexity, like the wine has a fragility that is not present in the other wines here or in the Comando G portfolio.
It has a medium-bodied palate with abundant fine-grained tannins but with a different texture from the wines from granite soils, as this is from slate and quartz. This is really outstanding and transcends the character of the vintage. It became more and more floral and aromatic with time in the glass."
