Established back in 1981, Grosset is nestled in the historic town of Auburn within the Clare Valley. It comprises four estate-owned vineyards, each situated at higher elevations just north of the winery, all of which are proudly certified organic and biodynamic. The grapes are meticulously hand-picked and processed in the organically-certified Auburn winery. Jeff Grosset, who earned the inaugural title of Australian Winemaker of the Year from Gourmet Traveller WINE in 1998, enjoys international recognition as one of the 'Top 10 White Winemakers' according to Decanter (UK) and is listed among the '50 Most Influential Winemakers' in the world by Wine & Spirits (USA) today.

"I’m sure that Grosset’s Alea Riesling has always been a serious wine, but in the glass it’s more serious than ever, if that makes sense.
There’s excellent intensity here. There’s a slip of fruit sweetness but it’s gentle and slight, the clearer message one of crisp green apples, lime, minerals and tonic-like herbs. I get the feeling that Alea has changed tack slightly, become drier, more mineral, less grapey. I’m a fan. This is very good."

"Well, seriously, the 2023 Grosset rieslings are wonderful.
This has you at hello. It’s structured and a touch reserved but there’s decent flavour both at the outset and throughout and then the finish, well, it saves its best for last. This wine really does seal the deal. Chalk, lime, fennel, a grainy/skinsy aspect to the finish but this is a wine of great fruit purity, finesse and finish. It’s delicious. It impresses with its structure. And it has that extra flourish."

"Grosset’s Polish Hill is renowned for its reserve, particularly on release, but this rendition has both its quality and its fruit intensity sitting front and centre. This really does announce itself. Flavours of lemon, lime, grapefruit, chalk and citrus blossom explode onto the palate in the most commanding and authoritative of ways, and then extend (mighty) lengthily through the finish. It’s a lay down misére. It’s scented, intense and sustained. It’s a wine of great beauty."
