Renowned and respected as one of the finest producers in Burgundy, Bouchard Pere et Fils has truly become an institution, known for the exceptional quality of their wines and the diversity of its many vineyards.
In the face of substantial challenges in 2021 that resulted in a significant reduction in yields, Winemaker Frederic Weber and his team at Bouchard have achieved an impressive array of cuvees from the Cote d'Or. Given the reduced yields, the available volumes for this release are very limited.
In most cases premium Burgundy, such as that made by Bouchard, always benefits from some time in bottle. We've got a huge selection of back vintage Domaine Bouchard available at excellent prices; click the link below to check it out.

2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'En Remilly'
Usually $325
Special Offer $299
"Bouchard Pere & Fils owns a parcel of this fine terroir with chalky, clay sub-soil, very small (5 ares) but ideally situated, this Premier Cru being right next to the legendary Chevalier-Montrachet. The small quantity of wines from these precious vines have remarkable aromatic strength and persistence.
Intensely perfumed bouquet with notes of citrus and white-fleshed fruit, mingled with toasted hints. On the palate, both rich and full-bodied, with lovely aromatic persistence. Good aging potential."

2021 Meursault 1er Cru 'Perrieres'
Usually $379
Special Offer $349
"Sweet Spot, Outstanding. This is aromatically similar to the Charmes though with a broader array of floral elements. There is almost painful intensity to the laser-like middleweight flavors that terminate in a chiseled, bone-dry and moderately austere finish that is like rolling small stones around the mouth. This is also very much built-to-age and as excellent as it is, it's not likely to make for especially interesting drinking young as it's very compact."

2021 Monthelie 1er Cru 'Les Duresses'
Usually $115
Special Offer $104
"Unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berry fruit, spices, smoke and plums, the 2021 Monthélie 1er Cru Les Duresses is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and lively, with a rather muscular, serious profile. Like its communal-level counterpart, it's a strong effort, though it will require some patience."

2021 Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er Cru 'Les Lavieres'
Usually $129
Special Offer $119
"Outstanding. This is also aromatically quite cool with its more floral-inflected nose of plum, spice and discreet wood nuances. There is excellent volume to the more refined medium weight flavors that possess very good mid-palate density before terminating in an impressively persistent and balanced finale. This is sufficiently firm to repay up to a decade of cellaring but it should also be accessible after only 4 to 5 years if desired."

2021Volnay 1er Cru 'Caillerets' Ancienne Cuvee Carnot
Usually $245
Special Offer $225
"Sweet Spot, Outstanding. An exuberantly spicy and overtly floral nose is airy, cool and elegant. Unlike some of the other reds in the range with very low yields, the mouthfeel of the medium-bodied flavors reflects the expected density while remaining sophisticated, refined and classy on the beautifully persistent, mineral-driven and youthfully austere finale. This is terrific and should age effortlessly."

2021Beaune du Chateau 1er Cru Rouge
Usually $125
Special Offer $117
"Subtle but not invisible wood sets off ripe and fresh aromas of various dark berries, spice and a whiff of earth. Here too there is fine volume and richness to the generous and seductive, even velvet-textured, flavors that offer very good length if only average depth, though that of course should improve with a few years of keeping."

2021 Beaune 1er Cru 'Teurons'
Usually $159
Special Offer $145
"Outstanding. Weber indicated that the vines were heavily frosted and the net yield was only 6 hl/ha! Once again there is just enough wood to merit mentioning framing the intensely floral-suffused nose of plum, spice, violet and lilac. Ironically given the very low reported yields, the medium-bodied flavors possess only average density though I very much like the balance as well as the excellent persistence. Lovely and as Teurons usually is, this is a wine of finesse that should age well."

2021 Beaune 1er Cru 'Greves Vigne de l'Enfant Jesus'
Usually $485
Special Offer $449
"Sweet Spot, Outstanding. Weber noted that they protected the vines with warming pots that allowed for a yield of about 22 hl/ha. More obvious oak influence stops short of fighting with the spicy and earthy purple fruit-scented nose. There is notably more density, power and volume to the bigger-bodied flavors that possess a seductive mouthfeel that contrasts somewhat with the robust but not rustic finale that delivers markedly better depth and persistence."

2021 Corton Grand Cru 'Le Corton'
Usually $425
Special Offer $389
"Sweet Spot. Ripe yet decidedly cool and very, very fresh aromas include those of spice, purple fruit, the sauvage and plenty of newly turned earth character. The mouthfeel of the caressing middleweight plus flavors is surprisingly refined with excellent power and focus on the balanced and persistent if markedly compact finale. As is virtually always the case, this is a 'buy and forget you own it' wine."

2021 Chambertin Grand Cru 'Clos de Beze'
Usually $1,399
Special Offer $1,299
"Not domaine, but sourced from their usual plot of 0.70ha which delivered a fairly full crop in 2021. Just 30% whole bunch vinification. Full deep red plum and peach fruit, a bouquet which might want freshening. A delicious and accurate style of Clos de Bèze on the palate, with some strawberries now at the back of the palate. Minor tannins, good persistence."

2021Chambertin Grand Cru
Usually $1,429
Special Offer $1,319
"The 2021 Chambertin Grand Cru comes from a 0.2-hectare parcel and includes 100% whole bunches, yielding one 350-liter barrel. This has a lovely, quite intellectual bouquet with wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with red berry fruit, hoisin, white pepper and thyme, very focused and poised with a persistent and very satisfying, rather substantial finish. Bon vin"
