After studying Oenology, Michael Downer toured the world's great wine regions, gaining valuable knowledge and experience. Michael then returned to the Adelaide Hills to lead the winemaking at Murdoch Hill Wines, his family estate. His approach is to make wines that are honest to their origins and to express creativity. The wines are remarkably faithful to the Adelaide Hills terroir, and we believe they offer exceptional value.
We are excited to introduce the latest flagship Pinot Noir from Murdoch Hill, the 2022 Apollo. This release has been met with rapturous applause by critics, who hail it as potentially one of the greatest Pinot Noirs to emerge from the Adelaide Hills.
