Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey

"[2021 was] one where we basically were kept on edge from start to finish. But the frost was a really tough way to begin and we spent a lot of time trying to protect the vines with warming candles. Thankfully it helped and we of course focused on the grand crus but unfortunately, the 1ers got largely crushed. Then, during the summer we had a variety of problems of which the oidium was clearly the worst... Maturities though were frankly better than I expected with good but not really high acid levels. Stylistically, the 2021s remind me somewhat of a more acidic 2008 though we will see if they eventually develop the same trace of exoticism. I don't plan to bottle until July as the wines are still quite backward due to the exceptionally late malos. More importantly, they seem to still be improving month by month, so I see no benefit to hurrying matters."

2021 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru 'Les Champlots'
Extremely Limited - $269

"Here there is enough reduction to blur everything but a hint of citrus character. The mouthfeel of the vibrant and delicious medium-bodied flavors is sleek, even polished, while delivering excellent length on the rich, dry and balanced finale. This could use better depth but more should almost certainly develop with bottle age."

2021 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru 'La Chateniere'
Extremely Limited - $269

"The 2021 Saint-Aubin Les Chatenière 1er Cru, whose malo finished earlier than others back in July, isexceedingly complex on the nose with mineral-rich malic scents, intense and beautifully defined, veryPuligny-inspired. The palate is well-balanced with a powerful opening, impressive depth and tension, superb mineralité and a bright, again, Puligny-like finish. Superb."
92-94 Points

2021 Chassagne-Montrachet V.V
Extremely Limited - $275

"Moderate reduction masks everything but a touch of petrol character. The attractively textured and generous medium weight flavors possess good underlying tension while displaying fine length on the clean and sneaky long finish. I like the balance and would suggest allowing this 5 to 8 years of cellaring in order for better complexity to develop. Lovely and worth considering."

2021 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Extremely Limited - $419

"A blend of all Pierre-Yves's premiers crus, the 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru is chiseled and concentrated, revealing aromas of pear, freshly baked bread, buttery pastry, mint and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with a long, chalky finish, it will really benefit from further élevage."
91-93 Points
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

2021 Meursault
Extremely Limited - $349

"From Grands Charrons, Luchets, Malpoiriers. The first two are new domaine plots with the Monthelie, while the team also run the Malpoiriers vines. Pale green tint, a little more breadth evident on the nose, and this continues on the palate with ripe apples, and generosity at the finish. Lingers nicely."
89-92 Points
Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

2021 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Les Garennes'
Extremely Limited - $599

"A much more floral-suffused nose speaks primarily of green fruit and just squeezed citrus. The delicious, racy and beautifully detailed middleweight flavors exude an abundance of minerality on the lemony, very dry and lengthier finish. This solidly concentrated effort needs to develop better depth but the potential is here."

2021 Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Extremely Limited - $2,799

"The 2021 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, comprising just a single one-year-old 300-liter barrel, is stunning on the nose with vibrant green apple, wet limestone and citrus scents, quite penetrating but, oh so elegant. The palate is well balanced with a powerful opening, more tropical than anticipated with wild peach, persimmon and hints of grapefruit, spicy with stem ginger on the finish. Wonderful."
95-97 Points
Neal Martin, Vinous.com

"An exuberantly fresh and floral-suffused nose also displays notes of green apple and citrus confit. There is excellent richness and power to the focused middleweight flavors that evidence a taut muscularity on the impressively persistent finale. Excellent development potential here."
93-96 Points

Caroline Morey

"Caroline Morey comes from a long line of vignerons based in the Cotes de Beaune and is also married to Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey. In 2014 Caroline has taken her share of some family vineyards from her father Jean-Marc and has created her own domaine based in Chassagne-Montrachet working out of brand new cellars built for Caroline and her husband Pierre-Yves."
Importer Notes

"The reds have an open and airy style – lots of elegance in this vintage but not lacking an ounce of material."
Caroline Morey

2021 Santenay 'Les Cornieres' Blanc
Extremely Limited - $189

"A very fresh nose offers up prominent aromas of petrol and spice that are trimmed in subtle oak nuances. The succulent and supple middleweight flavors exude a discreet bead of minerality that imparts a sense of lift to the bone-dry, youthfully austere and lingering finish where a touch of rusticity slowly emerges. This could use better depth so 5 to 8 years of keeping should prove helpful in that regard."

2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge
Extremely Limited - $144

"The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet is a blend of three vineyards. It has a little more concentration on the nose compared to the two Santenays with raspberry and wild strawberry to the fore. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, fresh and chalky, lively with a brittle, you could almost say "bony" finish that is full of tension and freshness."
