"Pale straw. Intense and concentrated aromatics of nettle, struck flint, preserved lemon, and grapefruit pith are complexed by subtle peach and nectarine fruit, clotted cream and spice. The palate is again led by citrus/ stonefruit, flint, spice and savoury minerality. Fleshy, textured and long with fine acid - this wine shares many similarities with the style and weight of the chardonnay we produce, and cannot be recommended highly enough for lovers of those wines. The balance, structure and concentration ensure a long life ahead."

"Pale ruby. Another elegant and ethereal vintage from this lovely vineyard. Full of raspberry and blackberry fruit, rose petals and subtle crushed herbs, it is deceptively concentrated. Long with ribbons of fine, silky tannin and creamy pinot fruits, combined with the typical exotic spice always evident in the Doug’s cuvee. Long, balanced and charming, while a joy to drink now cellaring is also recommended."

"Bright garnet. This vintage shows incredible vibrancy, with lavender, violet and creamy cassis fruit filling the nose and a savoury, graphite complexity in the background. Medium-bodied, fully flavoured and packed with fine fruit tannin, with just a slight nuance of oak seasoning. Again, creamy cassis, red cherry and raspberry flood the mouth, with graphite and subtle crushed ivy lending intrigue, finishing powdery and dry. Decent well and enjoy the youthful vibrancy or cellar into the medium term for additional complexity."

"Deep, dense ruby. Very reticent aromatically, with air revealing sweet dark cherry and cassis fruit, tobacco, nutmeg and just a hint of tomato leaf. Sturdy and firm, it is fleshy with dark cherry and berry fruit and densely packed with layers and layers of fine, mouth filling tannins. A wine to contemplate while it opens in the glass. Please decant well."

"Bright ruby red. Immediately aromatic and spicy, bright black and white peppercorns, liquorice strap and creamy black cherry and raspberry fruit with a potpourri lift and ironstone complexity. All gaining depth with aeration. The palate is bright fruited, fleshy and full- speaking of the cool site and season in a warm region. Black cherry and liquorice lead, again backed by pepper and spice, framed by the dense tannic structure from these old dry grown vines. A very “Burgundy” style shiraz."
