Founded by John Raytek, Ceritas has been making its mark in the wine industry since its first vintage in 2005. Today, the winery produces 14 different wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon, all sourced from dry-farmed historical sites that align with the style the team aims to create. Each vineyard is farmed either organically or biodynamically.

Operating without investors or partners gives John and his team the freedom to innovate and only bottle the wines they genuinely want to produce. Their winemaking philosophy emphasises minimal intervention in the cellar. The oak used for aging is sourced from two coopers and features a light toast with a tight grain. The resulting wines express a pure, focused style that appeals to those who appreciate tension and precision.

The cool growing conditions, along with rainfall and wind during the flowering period, have resulted in limited quantities of these wines once again. However, the quality is, as is often the case, outstanding! The 2023 Sonoma vintage is expected to be remembered as one of the best in the region this decade, producing wines that are exceptionally structured and age-worthy, featuring deep and concentrated fruit profiles.
