The reds have been improving consistently since the 2016 vintage, and the 2022 seems to be the best year for them—I was impressed. The 2022 Pinot Noir Cuvée Julien was produced with grapes from vines planted in 1952, and they produce one of the best Pinot Noirs from Jura. It's a wine with structure and finesse, floral notes and hints of blood orange peel, denoting freshness, and it has depth, complexity and persistence. This has to be the finest Cuvée Julien ever.
