"The 2023 Pinot Noir Cuvée Julien comes from Pinot Noir vines that were planted after World War II. Named after Ganevat's grandfather, this is often the finest Pinot in the house. 2023 is no exception, as the wine shows rounder and clean, with finesse and freshness and good ripeness and alcohol. This is very consistent vintage after vintage, and even though Fanfan Ganevat often refers to it as his Burgundy, this is distinctly Jura, with a wilder side, but it's a lot less funky than the 2022 (it was not produced in 2021, when all the red grapes were blended into a single cuvée)."
