Les Varrons is the largest lieu-dit in Rotalier, and the 2019 Les Varrons Vieilles Vignes is the second vintage in the domaine after 10 years of working the vines, which were planted in 1922 on Bajocien soils. This is lighter and more ethereal, with notes of syrup and less impact from the wood. The whites now spend (at least) three winters in demi-muid and oak vat, going for a longer élevage, while the reds tend to be bottled early.
