Farmed in the town of Taganana on the isolated, wild north-eastern corner of Tenerife. This village was originally settled by the Portuguese and consequently vineyards here are planted with a dizzying array of obscure old varietals. Listan Blanco, Marmajuela, Gual, Forastera Gomera, Vijariego, Malvasia, Verdello all make a cameo in Taganan Blanco. Each parcel and where possible each varietal is handled separately. The soils here are mostly basalt but dramatic vertical fracturing has deposited significant amounts of other volcanic rock and soil through out the village. It's low pH, saline, slightly wild and hedonistic.
