"Sadly, I can count on one hand how much Australian aligoté comes my way. More should be planted, but that’s another story. Barnaby Flanders gets some and makes a damn fine drink out of it. Therein lies the lesson. Fennel and lemon are dressed with finger lime and juicy tangy acidity, but it’s savoury, too, a little nutty and then there are the texture and lovely florals. It has the right amount of complexity without forfeiting deliciousness."

"A rare bird in Australia, and I only hope that more gets planted. This is from 30+ year old vines in Teurong; someone had the right idea way back then. We’ve not seen anything from Gargiste for a few years, and my partner bought this. She has excellent taste in so many things.
Ripe grapefruit and white stone fruit, oyster shell, fennel fronds, and a few green herbs. It’s tight, lots of crunch and ‘mineral’ feel, but also a savoury and gently creamy element, raw almond and brine, with a zesty lemon laced finish of excellent length. It’s delight to drink. Frisky, yet complex."
