The 2020 Estate is an extraordinarily expressive wine: exploding out of the glass with red cherry and berry compote, a lick of aromatic spices and savoury notes adding complexity. Plenty of fine tannins and bright acidity will hold this wine for cellaring for a dozen years. My impressions (upon tearing a bottle out of the case as it landed and opening it immediately) was of purity. Every part of the wine is a gorgeously polished and proportioned Pinot Noir made from amazing fruit.
Distributor Notes
This wine exhibits all the hall marks of its cool climate origin. Deep dark ruby in colour, with aromas of mushroom, forest floor, black forest cake and petrichor(scent of rain). Picked 22nd April 2020 the wine is very concentrated with good structure, and the middle palate displaying savory, tobacco leaves and nutty flavours. Well balanced wine with good acidity and tannins considering the cold year creates a deliciously moreish expression of Huon Valley Pinot Noir. Cellar 15 years.
