"It’s a good Basket Press, and typical, though it shows a little of the stress of the vintage. Dark and rich with a spectrum of fruit ranging from raspberry, to blood plum and blackberry pastille along with brown spice and toffee, earth and coal, with a touch of rosy vanilla oak perfume up above. It’s medium to full bodied and floods the mouth with flavour without ever being heavy or stolid. A little warmth and raspy tannin on day one, but pulled together beautifully the next, looking far more cohesive and fluid – svelte almost. Satisfaction all the way and a lovely wine to drink. "Medium red-purple; this is in the heartland of Barossa Valley shiraz style, the custom-made bottle a throwback to the 1940s; the bouquet is fragrant, and hides no secrets: silky, ripe tannins, abundant blackberry and spice fruit, and oak in perfect unison."
