"Fair to say that the Coonawarra winery I’m most often impressed by is Wynns. That it also happens to be one of the biggest is probably good news too. Alex here is short for Alexanders’ Vineyard, planted in 1988. Choc-licorice, rich berry, light minty perfume, florals, vanilla and tobacco. Medium bodied with red and black fruit flavours – maybe boysenberry or similar? – fresh and punchy with just-right ripeness. It’s a dense wine with a lovely firmness to its texture – to the tooth for sure – featuring powdery fine tannin, even acidity and a long convincing finish. Top shelf from front to back. 95 Points/Drink 2014-2030" - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
