Structure, tannins, architecture, length. It’s all there. A wine that requires chewing and chomping on, gets all mouthwatering, delights with its angles and firmness yet shows a come-hither perfume of dark fruit, crushed walnuts, clove, bayleaf, gum leaf and earthiness. Flavours tend to the dark fruits too, though there’s aniseed and clove in oak profile laying down complexity. It’s trim, taut and reserved. It’s a fine, fine, release that has the mettle for a generation in cellar. Drink 2015 - 2035+.
