Champagne Hathyr was born
out of the passion of a Columbian transplanted to France
when she was 18, Monica Marini. Originally studying French
and then law, Monica discovered her passion for Champagne,
dropped out of law school and enrolled in oenology and
viticulture courses in Avize. She was determined to
establish her own Champagne house and with the guiding hand
of Philippe Jamesse (Champagne writer, sommelier at the
famous Michelin starred Les Crayeres restaurant and
designer of Champagne glassware), Monica formed a
relationship with a 3rd generation of Champagne growers in
the Marne Valley. The family saw something in Monica’s
passion and Champagne Hathyr was born.
Monica helped guide the family to attain vineyard
certification as High Environmental Value and Sustainable
Viticulture in Champagne since 2016. With access to her
pick of the family’s 52 hectares of vineyards, Monica has
full control over her selection of varieties, vintages,
blends and vinification, And all parcels are pressed
individually. Her cuvees reflect a style that pairs
excellently with food. Her wines are already on the tables
of some excellent restaurants around the world.
