"This has been Hoffmann-Dallwitz vineyard fruit, and continues as such, with 1888 to 1912 Dallwitz Old as a part, and Hoffmann 1951 Dimchurch Home Old plot as another.
It’s hearty stuff, boot polish and black plum, garam masala and cedar with liquorice in the mix. Chunky but fresh, for this suite of wines, lots of depth and character, the finish briny and herbal with Dutch liquorice lingering. It’s fragrant, packs in stacks of character, feels a little warming and tannins somewhat sticky, but par for the course for this heartland stuff, and the intensity and drinkability is great."
