"For me, consistently the best wine from Wendouree, in terms of absolute quality. These 2013 wines are very firm and sturdy. Concentrated. It’s The Return of the Iron Fist from Wendouree.
This is a wine of rare class and magnificence. So much so that I’m expecting to find an iridescent blue and green feather somewhere around the house any minute, or later on, to further tickle my fancy. Blackcurrant and crème de cassis, ironstone, Dutch licorice and aniseed, violets and cedar. Full bodied, but in an athletic frame – dense, muscular and mineral – tastes like a sculpture that’s been chiseled out of obsidian – slick and shiny, yet deep and impenetrable. Finish is black and so well packed, it almost implodes. Remarkable. Ridiculously good wine."
