"95% cabernet sauvignon, 5% cabernet franc, 20% whole bunches (for cabernet), and grown on a Yarra Valley vineyard that was planted in 1981.
Beautiful aromatics. Blackcurrant and bay leaves with redcurrant, graphite, olives, and an array of twiggy spices. There’s more of the same on the palate, good fruit and ample spice, complexity writ large, tannin etched with purpose. Everything here is in good shape, the fruit, the style, the overall complexity, the only question really being whether the tannin comes down slightly too firmly on the finish. Time will tell on that score, though regardless there’s no question of this wine’s quality."
