Piper’s River Pinot Noir. Homeschooling. I just cooked a bunch of chicken nuggets for my kids, so bird bird bird, bird is the word. Well, one of them. Some of the others are best left unsaid. This is grown on sandy soil, all clone 114, takes about 5-10% whole bunch, and no new oak.
Delicate style, and don’t mind me, but puts me in mind of a good Frappato! Spiced strawberry, all the crunchy red fruits, a whiff of flowering basil and something a little steely. It’s light, lively, a dusting of white pepper tannin, fine lines and fresh flavour, with a finish offering brightness, a twist of orange peel, and gentle emery grip. A wonderful invigorating thing to drink. Sometimes less is more.
