The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Perrières 1er Cru has a riper and showier bouquet compared to the Roncières, featuring dark berry fruit, crushed violets and iris flowers, hints of blood orange and dark chocolate emerging with time in the glass. The medium-bodied palate offers supple tannins, very good depth and a more tertiary element compared to Chevillon’s other 2018s. Perhaps here the oak will need more time to be subsumed, but there is certainly very good depth on the finish. Give it three to five years in bottle.
